Veterans Mosaic

This past fall I had the opportunity to work with mosaic artist Kathy Casper to create a mosaic for the Veterans Memorial on route 40 in Elmer NJ. We had to design a mosaic that would be incorporated  onto an existing structure and include insignias from all of the branches of the armed forces.We are very excited to have this opportunity to have work in such a public realm. Route 40 is a heavily traveled road, a main artery to the Jersey Shore. We cannot wait to see it installed before the summer season arrives! " I Carry" Glass Mosaic at Broad St School Bridgeton NJ

I have the honor of working again on an A.I.E residency at Broad St School in Bridgeton NJ. This year, students in grade 8 are creating a glass mosaic that documents their migration/immigration stories.  I worked with teaching artist/poet Jacob Winterstein who helped the students to write a poem entitled "I Carry". Jacob created a group poem from the individual poems. Students are creating stained glass mosaic "windows" that illustrate lines from the group poem.
